Simple Capacitive Discharge Ignition (CDI) Circuit ...CDI Circuit using an SCR, a few Resistors and Diodes. Referring to the above capacitor discharge ignition circuit diagram, we see a simple configuration consisting of a few diodes, resistors, a SCR and a single high voltage capacitor. The input to the CDI unit is derived from two sources of the alternator.
1983 Honda ATC 185S Jeff Wilson e-mailed the wiring diagram but the color code and wiring legend can not be read. I have cleaned the CDI contacts on the pulse generator and looked for broken wiring and such. I have a manual ordered but I want to work on it now !!!! I would appreciate a wiring diagram and possibly the troubleshooting section for the ignition system.
